There’s no dearth of great talent when it comes to stand-up comics in India. They’re experimenting with different gigs and acts. There’s Tanmay Bhat, 24, who was the clown in his college. His gigs in pubs and clubs have the who’s who in splits. Praveen Kumar has a group called Polish Bottoms in Bangalore. Anuvab Pal, who worked as a stand-up in the US, performs at Mumbai’s The Comedy Store. He believes, “Stand-up comedy has a dedicated audience that appreciates it as an art form.”
